This is a comfort food style dish from my childhood. Many memories of having this for dinner after spending the day skiing in New York. It's easy to prepare which makes it a great weeknight dish. It reheats great which makes the leftovers great for lunches.

Recipe Notes

  • The recipe calls for one pound of ground beef but that can be substituted with ground turkey or plant based ground
  • Use whatever brand you want for spaghetti sauce. Changing the sauce will change the flavors; try extra mushrooms one time and sauteed onion & garlic the next!
  • If you know how to make your own pie crust from scratch feel free to do that, the dish will taste even better! A frozen premade version works great for a weeknight meal, recommended to use a deep dish style.
